Background
My name is Ankit Sahay and I am a PhD candidate at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. I am originally from Dhanbad, India where most of my family still lives.

Academics
In 2016, I received my Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi under the supervision of Dr. Arbind Kumar. My undergraduate project explored the viability and effectiveness of a variable length exhaust manifold for improved suction of exhaust gases in an internal combustion engine.

After my graduation I worked as an Assistant Manager in the Production department of Exide Industries Limited's Ahmednagar manufacturing plant, supervising the shop floor operations on a shift basis with over 50 people under direct supervision. I primarily concentrated on the supervision and maintenance of the boxing section of the assembly line, along with planning and execution of the production schedule on a monthly basis.

In 2018 I started Masters in Aerospace Engineering at Indian institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. Towards the beginning of 2019, I joined Dr. R. I. Sujith's lab to work in the area of thermoacoustic instabilities. I am currently working on the behavior of Rijke tube under external acoustic forcing, and have also converted my Masters to integrated PhD program.
